Last seasons U14 Tier 2 (Pool A) Champions took to the field in this seasons opening match and boy did they do great !

Nominated by her peers, captain, Sadie lead the team to the field, starting with a new formation and welcoming new faces from our U12's, Nelly, Pheobe, Lexie & new to the U14 this season, Eleanor. It was a solid, clean start in Q1 and I think, blowing away the summer cobwebs, we had our chances!

And then the team settled, passed and moved the ball so well, posting up sensationally! Eventually we broke down the solid Thirsk defence with that stunning opener from Charlotte .

The new formation proving a huge success with solid midfield performances from all involved, Charlotte, Emily , Viv, Nelly, Eleanor, Pheobe, Lexie & Sadie kept pressing forward and track back when required, an absolute solid piece of midfield work!

Half time chat I proposed the idea of going back to diamond formation but the team agreed to stick with new....and by, they do know their stuff and each other so well.

The strong midfield kept up that press and with some sensational positioning Maddie kept that pressure coming in from the left and Sophie on the keeper....the magic was really starting to unfold and then goal No 2, Charlotte again with a fantastic knock in following a Sadie Strike!

And so that Sadie Strike, strikes again with a stunning shot on goal to make it 3-0!

I must say an absolute solid start to the season and to finish off with the praise of the sensational defenders, Imogen, Amelia, Rosie and Pheobe and not forgetting Millie with a valuable 1 touch all game ! A great clean sheet!

A performance the girls should be incredibly proud of! I know I am proud of each and everyone
