We need members help to raise vital funds at a coffee morning, cake sale and tombola

THE club will hold a fundraiser at Northallerton Town Hall on Saturday, September 11 with a few crucial differences to the annual event - and we need members' help and donations to make it a success.
This year, there will be no bric-a-brac or books, and instead we will focus on sales of refreshments, including bacon butties and hot drinks, and cakes, and there will be tombolas for adults and children.
We will be open to the public from 9am to 12pm, but volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts of 8am-10am and 10am-12pm. Sarah Norman is co-ordinating a rota. Please contact her on sarahjanenorman@hotmail.co.uk or 07734 685823 if you can help.
To try and raise as much money as possible after a year without fundraising, we need all club members to please provide the following:
  • Tombola prizes: Five items, new and in date, suitable for either the adults' or children's tombolas. These should be dropped off at Rachel Holden’s house (45 Lees Lane, Romanby, Northallerton) in the week of September 6, but before Wednesday, September 8 at 7pm as they will be ticketed that night. Please do not bring tombola prizes on the day.

  • Cakes: Please could each member provide two baked items ready for sale - these can be large cakes, fruit pies, scones, flapjacks, fruit loafs, butterfly buns, muffins or cookies. Some items will be sold on the cake stall, others may be used for sale with hot drinks, but all must be labelled with name of the product plus full ingredients in a clear bag or cake box where the product can be seen. These should be brought to the Town Hall on the morning of the sale between 8am and 8.15am, where they will be priced by those looking after the cake stall. Please do not bring items loose.

Full Covid risk assessments are being carried out, the event layout has been adjusted to make extra space, and we recommend that club volunteers helping on the day wear face coverings.
Thank you for your help with this, and apologies for the relatively short notice - our fundraising has been hit hard by the pandemic, so it would be great to make a success of our biggest annual event.
