Players and supporters of Northallerton Hockey Club rounded off a successful season with two special presentation events.
The club’s growing junior membership gathered at Northallerton Cricket Club to see players honoured from age groups ranging from under ten to under 16, with trophies handed out in various categories.
The presentation came on the same day that Northallerton’s under 14s won their last fixture of the season 2-0 – a result which saw the side crowned champions of Yorkshire tier two.
As their victory depended on the outcome of a match being played later in the day, the team only found out they had won the league during the presentation, when it was announced by proud coach Carla Luck.
Northallerton’s two senior teams held their end of season presentation at the Golden Lion.
Both sides finished fifth in their respective divisions of the Yorkshire league, and captains Jenna McAulay and Becky Day described their successful seasons to members.
The evening also included a presentation to Rachel Holden, who has played for the club for 44 years, but is now concentrating on her golf.
Senior trophies went to: First team players’ player – Brooke Hodgson. Second team players’ player – Abby Robinson. First team top goal scorer – Brooke Hodgson and Kayleigh Stewart. Second team top goal scorer – Hannah Kendrew, Abby Robinson and Lucy Robinson. First team most player of the match votes – Becksy Wilkin. Second team most player of the match votes – Alice Parker.
